Tuesday—We woke yesterday morning to brilliant sunshine, the first such morning in weeks. The clear skies brought cold but the sun stayed all day, warming the house and lifting our spirits. I had forgotten what a blessing the sun is.
This morning brought yet another rare event. It was about 7:30 a.m. when we opened the bedroom curtains and saw a full and glorious white moon looking in at us. While the sun rose on the opposite side of the house I sat in bed, listening to news of the world financial crisis, drinking my tea, and watching our silver-white moon growing larger and larger as it sank through the atmosphere toward its daily oblivion. And almost to the minute, as the huge moon settled behind the coastal mountains, the sun rose over the valley edge and spread its golden light across our bedroom wall. What timing!
Nature trumps our petty worries yet again.

A lifting event every time. Lisbeth and I were enjoying the moon rise and sunset the other evening and as dawn broke we enjoyed the moon set and sunrise. Wonder if it is the same moon.
